New Art Czar for Boston
This article from the Artery (WBUR) is instructive in thinking about what the Arlington Culture and Arts Commission and the Arlington Cultural Council might want to do as part of a potential summit this spring/summer. The idea of developing an Arts Plan might be a way to move things forward and help give shape to the role of the Commission.

Along with the Boston Globe editorial by Pat Hollenback (also quoted in the above article) there are lots of things to stimulate thought and push us towards action here in Arlington.
Like Boston, Arlington believes that it is worthy of being an arts destination. If we are serious, an arts anc culture master plan would be a start towards actually developing the substance behind the idea. We have a great deal of work to do if we are really serious about being part of the creative economy. We're no where close to where we need to be.
